Miles for Miles Charity Ride Raises Over £11,000 for Bowel Cancer UK

The Miles for Miles charity ride brought together colleagues, friends, and family from across the UK’s waste and recycling sector to honour the life of Jon Miles — a much-respected industry figure and friend to many.

Held in June 2025, the ride covered a scenic but challenging route from Tunbridge Wells to Eastbourne, raising over £11,000 for Bowel Cancer UK — and donations are still coming in. The event was organised as a tribute to Jon, who spent more than 30 years in the industry and left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

Participants from all over the country joined the ride, showing the strength of connection within the industry. There was laughter, reflection, and a shared sense of purpose as cyclists honoured Jon’s memory in the best way they knew how — by coming together and doing something meaningful.

Among the riders was Kevin Murton, Founder and Senior Business Advisor at EPIC Media, who shared:

“Jon was a husband, a father, and a true friend to so many. He gave his time generously, supported those around him, and brought warmth to every situation. It was a real honour to ride in his memory and support such an important cause.”

The ride not only celebrated Jon’s life but also helped raise awareness of bowel cancer, which remains one of the most common forms of cancer in the UK. The funds raised will go toward supporting early diagnosis, ongoing research, and improved patient support services through Bowel Cancer UK.

At EPIC Media, we were proud to be part of the event and to stand alongside so many in our sector who knew and respected Jon. We remain committed to supporting causes that matter and to being part of a community that shows up when it counts.
